Vitamin D Deficiency and IVF

Dr. Chamoun and the team at Viera Fertility Center are your Melbourne FL IVF partners to help you achieve the family of your dreams. And today we report on new research published by the Endocrine Society that points to Vitamin D deficiency and its potential to inhibit IVF success.

Researchers found that IVF was more successful in women who had sufficient vitamin D than in women who were vitamin D deficient. In fact, women who had sufficient levels of vitamin D were nearly twice as likely to conceive as their counterparts with vitamin D deficiency. Since women with sufficient levels of the hormone were more likely to produce top-quality embryos, researchers theorized vitamin D was involved in the production of quality eggs in the ovaries as well as the successful implantation of embryos in the uterus.
